You can remove your account and everything tied to it at any time. Here's exactly what happens.
What gets deleted
- Your account and profile (email, display name).
- Every capsule you created — its ciphertext, media and metadata.
- Because deletion cascades, capsules are removed along with the account.
Encryption keys are held only in your browser and in private links — never on our servers — so once your account and ciphertext are gone, nothing readable remains with us.
How to request it
- Email hello@inheritthemoment.com from your account's email address with the subject “Delete my data.”
- We verify it's you, then permanently delete your account and its capsules.
- We confirm by email when it's done, normally within a few days.
A self‑serve “Delete account” button inside the app is coming; until then the email route above is the way, and it is honoured fully.
A note on capsules you've already sent
If you deleted a capsule you had already shared, its private link stops working. If someone already opened and claimed a capsule into their own vault before you deleted your account, their claimed copy may persist under their account.
